Impress Communication is managed by Giovanna Battiston, who started her career as an editor for the Thomas Cook Group. Here, her responsibilities included managing the production of a new series of travel guides from initial conception to finished item, and publishing and promoting spin-off editions of the well-known Thomas Cook European timetable.
Giovanna then moved into marketing where her responsibilities have included producing hard-copy and electronic newsletters, event management, copywriting (on and off-line), direct mail, and PR. She is also a management trainer specialising in marketing and English for business.  
Giovanna, who holds a PGCE to teach in the post-compulsory sector, is currently a lecturer in marketing at Sheffield Hallam University, Regional Manager for Oxford College of Marketing in Yorkshire, and a freelance marketer. She is also Chair of the South Yorkshire branch of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. She holds an M.Phil in Publishing Studies, an MSc in Marketing, and the CIM post-graduate diploma (DipM) in marketing.
